Francisco Aguilar

Francisco is originally from Mexico (Baja California). He graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He's been in the UCO Staff (MCU) for 4 years. MCU is a UCO chapter in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. His hobby is: learning.

"Let us run with patience the race that is set before us; looking unto Jesus,

Nico Angleys

Nico is originally from France (near Geneva - in the Alps) and graduated from UofM with a degree in Aerospace engineering. He's been on UCO staff for 10 years and will gladly bore anyone who will listen with his 'dorm days' stories. They were momentous. This year he will serve as a sort of supervisor, while also serving other UCO chapters in Michigan and the chapter in Pittsburgh.

Charity Birk

Charity is originally from Ypsilanti. She spent several years in Lansing doing some service and finishing up her undergrad at Spring Arbor University. She moved back to Ypsilanti in January 2004 to work in Detroit with Youthworks and to attend grad school at Wayne State University. In May of 2006 she earned her Master's degree in Social Work. This is Charity's 3nd year as staff for UCO.

Joaquin Cerda

Joaquin is originally from Monterrey, Mexico (The city of the mountains) and graduated in 2006 from Business Administration. He has been involved in UCO since 2000, when he was still in High School. He is in Ann Arbor to continue his training as a Servant of the Word.

"And the Lord came and stood forth, calling as at other times, "Samuel! Samuel!"

John Hughes

John is a born-and-raised 'Ann Arbor-ite'. He recently graduated from the University of Michigan, with a degree in Economics and German, which sets him up nicely to serve full time on UCO staff. His interests include making, creating, and producing music and thrift store shopping.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Dan Keating

Dan is a graduate from the University of Michigan, and has done staff work with UCO for many years, both in Ann Arbor and in the United Kingdom. He has a doctorate in theology from Oxford University, and is an Associate Professor of Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. He is an avid, but amateur, gardener.

Brian Laba

Brian has been involved with UCO since beginning studies at UM in the fall of 97. He graduated near the start of the new millennium with a degree in Ecology and is happy to recommend specific woody plant species good for hugging (rule of thumb: stay away from things covered in thorns or poison ivy). After missing last year tracing his roots and helping with UCO’s sister group in Belfast (Northern Ireland) called TEC he’s ready for another year of helping to build the Kingdom of God here in Ann Arbor with UCO.

Zach Mabee

Zach hails from Toledo, OH but was reared in Atlanta, GA. He graduated in April from U of M with a degree in philosophy and linguistics and now spends most of his time teaching gym classes and serving in UCO. His interests include studying and writing philosophy, drinking coffee, and lifting weights.

 

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed" - Isa 53:5

 

 

Mary Nitkiewicz

Originally from Ypsilanti, she went to Ave Maria College majoring in European History and minoring in Literature. She did a year of service out in the twin cities with Saint Paul’s Outreach, and now has come back to the Ann Arbor area to serve with UCO. These days she spends her time between UCO and teaching at several homeschool associations in the Ann Arbor area. Other interests include drinking coffee, fencing, reading great literature, and studying medieval battles.

"For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39

 

 

Molly Pauze

Molly Pauze lives in the area with her husband, Mark, and four kids. She attended U of M, majoring in French (or UCO, as her parents would say). She was part of UCO for four years. They love having guests for dinner; feel free to invite yourself!

Rosemary Thornton

Rosemary is a wife and mother of four girls, ages 11-18. She served in UCO for 5 years after college, and now also serves in graduate school learning to become a Physician's Assistant.

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil,

Mags Tierney

Mags comes from Ireland. She is staying in the U.S. for a year to serve UCO and to take time for prayer and theology study. Upon meeting some wild folks in a group like UCO at age 17, her dreams shifted to a wonderful new stratosphere, and since then, she has never looked back. Mags worked in sales for a pharmaceutical company after completing her Honors Degree in Chemistry. She left the rich corporate world in 2001, and moved to Belfast to work for a youth mission (Y.I) until July 2007, right before she came to the States. Mags enjoys eccentric individuals, dinner parties and reading about heroes of revolution.
