Meijer Madness is basically a time for students to buy last-minute school supplies and get free stuff in the process, but that description doesn't do it justice. There's karaoke, DDR, a rock wall, and countless other things to do, but more importantly, this is a chance for us as UCO to make connections with people on campus, invite them to UCO, and possibly even tell them how God has worked in our lives. My first introduction to UCO was at Meijer Madness my freshman year.  The genuineness of the people I met from UCO and their boldness and persistence in talking about faith encouraged me to stick around.

Meijer Madness runs from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am, with buses running from campus to Meijer every 10 minutes or so. It would be really great if a bunch of us could go and be bold in making those first connections. If you're interested in going, join us for some prayer beforehand at 8:30 pm at 716 Catherine Street. From there, we'll split up into smaller groups and head to the buses.

I may be biased, but I think this is an awesome opportunity to live out Christ's work and draw people in. Plus, we have an awful lot of fun doing it. Hope to see you there!

Actually it's not kickball, exactly.  It's a variation on big-base kickbal called "Mattball".  Here's a message from David Williamson:

This is going to be Epic.  If you weren’t sure how you were going to spend your Labor Day afternoon, I have solved your problem.  And this is even more than a kickball game.

The Details:

This will be our first prayer meeting of the year together!  Join us as we start the year with a time of worship and seeking the Lord for the year, as well as sharings from different members, and encouragement.

Location:  Campus Chapel - yes! it's a new location...we're not in a basement anymore!

One of the most visible signs that U of M students are losing their minds diverse. There's a group out there for every cause, creed, and (nut)case. But we'll be out there too (we're not weird, we're just.. different). This is a great opportunity to talk to freshmen and other curious types, as well as get a bunch of free stuff from other groups. It's NOT a great opportunity to try to get to class on time.

Our very own James Munk is going to give a talk about boldness and evangelism, to pump us up for the semester and all the outreach work the Lord has for us. We’ll also have a time of worship  and fellowship, and hopefully a time to share about the Lord’s work in our lives.  Bring a friend and come eager to hear from Him in this time!

To properly prepare ourselves for the spiritual battle before us, we (the guys Men of UCO) will engage in a physical battle of epic proportions, involving darkness (metaphor?), backwoods, tomatoes, and a mild level of pain and physical exertion.

We'll meet up at 716 Catherine St , and head down to the battleground (west of Ann Arbor) to meet up with some other guys from UCO in Lansing. Then, capture the flag meets a half-ripened tomato to the face. TomatoWar08.

Happy Fall Break!

Because of the weather, the awesome cornmaze was cancelled. :(

BUT WAIT!!! We still have a great night planned!

Meet at the new Chipotle Mexican Grillon State Street at 6pm. Bring money for dinner!

Afterward, a bunch of us will be going to the Dollar Theater at the Briarwood Mall to see Wall-E at 7pm. Tickets are only$1.75!!

Around 9pm we will be going to the Womens Household on Kingsley to party and hang out.

A yearly tradition of epic proportions, this showdown of EMU folks vs. UCO-UM is a highlight for any dude that has participated. It's the stuff of legends.

If the OSU-UM game turns out to be at 12 instead of 3:30, we can reschedule this.

We still have zero serious injuries to date (God be praised). This is gonna be sweet so tell your friends (not too many ringers, though) and come on out to play some pigskin.

Also, this isn't going to be co-ed, sorry ladies.
